Valiosa

I told you earlier about my little rascal of a puppy
Valiosa L Garcia

She was born the week of our wedding and we took her home 2 days before she turned
6 weeks old. She was adorable and slept in my arms the whole ride home.

She had a little trouble being potty trained, as we expected, so Valiosa wore diapers
when she was inside. I know it sounds absurd, but I did not want to clean it up!

Someone told me that if you put a bell on the door and ring it every time you take them out to the bathroom, they will eventually catch on and ring the bell themselves, letting you know when they need to go out. She caught on after 1 day!! And to this day, she will ring the bell. However, she is a little smarter, and now rings the bell whenever Patrick or I leave or if she sees someone walking their dog outside. :)

She always looks so innocent...
but then I would find her in hiding- with a shoe.

Vali is getting bigger, but still getting into trouble.
This is when she ran away at the lake house. She loves the water.

She tries to sneak onto the couch, when she knows full well she isn't allowed.

And the other day I found her with my cute Vera Bradley hanger
It was completely DEVOURED!

but how can I get mad?

consignment stores

There is a consignment store called
Snooty Fox
near our neighborhood. It is one of those places
where you practically have to stop in everyday
because new things are always arriving.
One day there may be NOTHING and then TONS the next.
Well I went there yesterday to drop off some
clothes (I finally cleaned
out my closet!!)
and look what I found:

This is a Priscilla of Boston Dress
It didn't have the brown sash with it
so it is very simple and classic.
It was several sizes too big (according to the label)
but luckily I went ahead and tried it on
because it had been altered to fit me
PERFECTLY!
And I got it for $15!!

Today I received my weekly email from J.Crew.
I love how they tempt me with their new styles and sales.

Yesterday Patrick and I went to a lovely Mother's Day luncheon.
You may wonder why I would go to a lunch celebrating mothers
when I am not a mother
and my own mother wasn't attending.
well...Patrick was the guest speaker :)
He did a great job and was quite funny*
The lunch was delicious and each table was decorated so beautifully.
A lady from the church (Bridgetown Church of Christ) brought in
flowers from her own garden.
The lilac fragrance filled the entire room.
She even let me take some home:

On our way home we passed a TJMaxx ... and I just had to stop in.
I found this little treasure in the clearance area.
I haven't decided where I should put it...
On Patrick's desk for filing and stuff... or in the Kitchen?
We shall see.
When I uploaded the above picture from my phone
This cute picture was also on there:

This is my puppy Valiosa. She was asleep next to me on one
of the million rides into Louisville. She looks so peaceful and sweet, doesn't she?
Well when I find my camera cord, I'll post a picture of what I found her
doing today. Oh my, Vali is NOT always this cute!!

My Old Kentucky Home

The Kentucky Derby winner is:
Mine That Bird

I wish we could have gone this year..
I am craving derby pie soooo bad.
Last year, I had a blast with some girlfriends at Derby.
This is the hat I wore:

Next year I will be there for sure!!
I am in search of a hat now (maybe there will be one on sale?)
What do you think of this look?

Look for me next year in black & white (minus the gloves*)

date night

I received this text yesterday while Patrick was out running an errand:
"I'm taking u out tonight by the way. Wear a dress"
Wow! My first thought was- What a thoughtful, sweet husband I have!!
My second thought was- What am I going to wear?!?!?!?
I ran to my closet and grabbed several dresses that caught my eye...

1: banana republic dress- very comfy
2: white house black market dress
(This was the dress I had planned to wear as we drove off after our wedding)
3: yellow vintage dress
from
Nitty Gritty (Louisville) and my Senior Prom Dress :)
So after I tried on all of these, I decided since yesterday was
my "yellow" day that I would wear my yellow dress!

But then Patrick put on his see
rsucker suit... (so handsome!)
the 70's lace just was NOT right with the seersucker,
so I had to run back to my closet and search some more.
By this time, clothes were all over the floor and it was time to leave.
So I picked another yellow dress and we were out the door!

Doesn't he look cute!! I love when he wears this suit!
I must give credit to Mrs. Thompson for my dress.
She was my Home Ec. teacher my senior year
and she helped me make this dress :)

Patrick took me to Maggiano's for dinner
DELICIOUS!!
and look what was waiting for me at the table

what a wonderful evening!!
