Depending on the style you prefer- younger girls can wear the women's size scarves they just may prefer to wrap three times so it's not as bulky. The girl scarves are half the width and about 20 inches shorter than the women's size. It gives them less fabric to deal with and is a cute next step up from the Baby Scarves. I even like the girl scarves for Vera wrapped three times- super cute for this fall!
