On the road

After dropping off a few things in Louisville and saying more goodbyes, we made a late night drive to Nashville to spend the night with Patrick's sister and the Kaiser Fam!  We LOVED seeing them.  We wished we could have stayed longer and played more with Ellie Claire and Will!  But we headed back on the road to have a quick lunch with Sadie at Lipscomb!

For Patrick's birthday, Sadie bought him this Texas shirt:

We loved seeing Sadie and grabbing a quick lunch on campus at ChickfilA. yum.

(I don't even want to talk about this hotel.  I drove ahead of Patrick and picked a spot to rest for the night, but I was so sleep deprived that I just pulled over at the first spot.  BAD decision.  Never pick a "best value" hotel in Clinton's hometown  Luckily I brought my own sheets and towels and we were so tired that we slept through the whole night... but wow, that will never happen again.

Welcome Home:

(is it bad that I took most of these pictures while driving?)

Moving-out Day

(somehow the guys got the couch out of the apartment.  I thought we were going to leave it for the next renter.  Great work guys!!!)

The truck that arrived two hours late... still waiting for the trailer for Jethro the Jeep...

I did not realize we had SO MUCH junk STUFF.  The 24ft Truck wasn't packed full to the top, but way tighter than we ever imagined.  Either I have way to many decorations or I have no idea how to pack...

 Off we go...

(Did anyone notice how Patrick's red Jeep was originally on the trailer?  We had it all packed and ready, then realized the tires on his jeep were too big.  and that's why we moved to Texas.)

We've moved!!

Now blogging from our new home in Dallas, Texas!!
Sorry for the lack of posts and for not sharing the big move!  Don't worry, tons of posts to come :)

Needless to say, it's been a little busy around our home the past month- packing, praying, dreaming, saying hard goodbyes, more packing, and driving 45 mph from Cincinnati to Euless, located on the west side of Dallas.

We cannot be more excited to start this adventure!  It was extremely hard to say goodbye to wonderful friends back home and our family in Louisville, but God has provided us with a peace knowing we are following him on this journey.  2 years ago, Patrick and I began praying for a future church home and God answered our prayers through Compass Christian Church.   We visited a month ago and fell in love with the people, community and the state :)  I already felt at home in the church and welcomed by so many people.    Patrick is the associate teaching pastor at the Colleyville Campus.

Thanks to all of you who helped with the moving process!  We couldn't have done it without you!

Word of Advice to people preparing to move:
NEVER USE BUDGET RENTAL :)
The truck was 2 hours late and the trailer was 8 hours late on our moving day!  And when we went to return the truck today, the trailer fell off in the middle of the road- we called roadside assistance and they told us the hitch on the trailer, that Budget put on, was the WRONG SIZE!  And the safety lock was rusted all over and had broken.  We drove 15 hours with a messed up trailer and Thankfully, it didn't completely break until the Jeep was off the trailer and didn't hit another car (although I wouldn't have been too sad if Jethro the Jeep fell to his death...)
Okay, enough about that...  More posts to come!
