Nashvegas

On Monday we watched Ellie Claire and Will and had a BLAST at their neighborhood park!
We met up with the rest of the fam (Garcias, Prices, & Kaisers)
that evening at Chef's restaurant... delicious :) best sweet potatoes ever! (sorry mom)
silly Lily had fun in front of the camera
The next day Patrick and I went with his sisters Cara and Mary Julia and their adorable kids
to the Nashville Science Center.  I had forgotten how entertaining the science center is!!!
I think Patrick played with more toys and gadgets than any of the other kids.
Like I learned in my education classes  "Play is learning..."
we LOVED Nashville and spending time with family.
wish we lived closer and could do this more often.
part 2 of spring break is next....
(and sorry... even MORE pictures)

SB2010!!!

Patrick and I just returned from a wonderful Spring Break!  We started the week off in Nashville with Patrick's 3 sisters, 2 brothers-in-law, 3 sweet nieces and an adorable nephew.  Then, we ended the week at the Lakehouse with some great friends.  We drove through Louisville tonight to have my early birthday dinner with my family and hear my dad preach.  There is so much more to share and TONS of pictures, but maybe tomorrow.  Have a great Sunday!

shades of spring

we all scream for ice cream

Thanks to gift cards, extreme Macy's sales, coupons and major anticipation for warmer weather
this sleek and compact beauty ended up on our kitchen counter this weekend.
We bought it Saturday night and picked up the ingredients on the way home from Macy's.
To our dismay, the bowl/container thingy has to be completely frozen before making
the first thing of ice cream... so we had to wait until Sunday afternoon :(
To be honest, several times throughout Patrick's sermon my mind drifted
to homemade ice cream... what mix in I should try... gelato, yogurt, vanilla, mint?
I felt kinda bad until he told me he had been dreaming about it all day as well!
Luckily, this little machine whips up 2 quarts of ice cream in as little as 20 minutes
so it did not take long for the cream, sugar and vanilla to thicken and
have our kitchen full of that Graeter's refreshing and icy scent.
On Sunday, I made vanilla ice cream with chocolate chip cookie chunks as the mix-in.
Tonight I made Vanilla Yogurt Ice Cream with strawberries...
They both were tasty and so easy to make... the yogurt one is a little healthier :)

while waiting for it to thicken, I chopped up some strawberries as the mix-in:
so easy and delicious!

Vali got a little taste on her nose and loved it:

stands forever

"The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God stands forever.

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom."

(from Isaiah 40)
