Here are a few things on my to-do list that I learned from Real Simple:

Use Cake Stands as platforms for candles (or appetizers)

store Grocery Bags in a tissue box so they are organized and contained

Pick a color and paint a border around your rug for a new look.

use baby spoons as serving utensils

turn an orange into a lovely ice cream bowl

using a stencil, monogram an old ordinary pillow
