Evening Picnics

We found a new favorite spot for our family in the evenings!  Lots of little lakes & ponds about ten minutes from our house.  Patrick called them "stripper pits" but I was a little confused with that term.  (I think it has something to do with coal mining?) ;) Anyways, they are peaceful & beautiful and once the weather cools off, I'm pretty sure you will find us here every evening.

By the way, does anyone know why it's as hot as Texas PLUS crazy humid?!  Whew, Indiana this fall better be beautiful...

End of Summer

Proud Big Sister!

First off, Did I tell yall that my brother, Sam, just started his freshman year of COLLEGE last week?!?!  So proud of him and excited for his start at Liberty University.  Can't wait to visit!!  (Still hasn't hit me that he is in college, wow! and I still catch myself from calling him Samuel.)

Then, on Saturday, my sister had her white coat ceremony for Dental Hygiene School!  She starts her two year program this week.  So proud of her and I know she will be the best dental hygienist there is!

Here's to two exciting beginnings & one proud sister!

Welcome August!

Wow, August already!  And it seems the weather is already becoming more pleasant... breakfast on the porch and an afternoon walk isn't as miserable, now if only we could get rid of those darn mosquitoes!!
July was such a special month, but now as we settle into more of a routine and little girl starts sleeping longer stretches I'm thinking August is going to be pretty sweet.  At least this first day has been great.  All the laundry is caught up. (well except for JR's messy clothes after breakfast) The entire house has been vacuumed and both babies are down for a nap.  Can't believe we made it through the day without turning on the "choo choo" movie!  It is a cute movie on Netflix- The Little Engine that Could- but we have watched it PLENTY.
Hope you all enjoy these final summer days before cooler weather blows in!
