Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
5 sure results of practicing the presence of God in ALL that we do.
1. Excellent help to prayer, producing in us a deep reverence for the majesty of God.
2. Produces a confidence in God- a fearlessness of our enemies, patience in trouble, and a sure hope of remedy.
3. It produces a joy in God for we know he is with us in our natural actions to preserve us, in our public actions to praise or reprove us, in our recreations to restrain us, in our sleep to watch by us, and in our watchings to refresh us. In all this it makes it easy to keep Paul's rule in Phil. 4:4 and 1 Thess. 5:16
(Phil. 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" 1 Thess. 5:16 "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.")
4. Keeps alive holy desires of the enjoyments of God.
5. It issues forth as a fountain of humility of spirit, causes us to see our great needs, our daily wants, and hourly supplies, and to think of the deep admiration of God's unspeakable mercies. It helps us to keep our mind and thoughts from wondering loosely. It helps to make us God-like in all our ways of life.
(2 Peter 1:57 "For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.")
